We expect you have experienced DJ performances that you enjoyed, but you have probably also left an event where a DJ left you less than impressed, disappointed, or even frustrated. We take pride in being considerate of you, your guests, the facility and its’ staff, as well as other service providers. We will be sharp, sensitive and aware of other factors in play to better assure the flow of the event is smooth and without incident. Times have certainly changed with regards to DJs having a good selection of music. The digital age and downloadable files available on the internet mean that it’s much easier and less expensive for a DJ to have a vast selection. But a huge diverse collection, although important, does not a DJ make! Knowing when best to play which song is the key. A typical gig requires between 60 and 75 selections, so you have to ask yourself if 10,000 or more selections are really necessary.
We also keep tabs on the charts, research period music (for example: for a class reunion), and generally keep our music library up to date and well organized. Note too that we always purchase the music we download off the internet. This not only supports the music industry but assures our files are clean, and virus free.

Requests are always welcomed and appreciated. We suggest you plan on submitting a request list in advance, as well as a “don’t play” list if you’d like. This is typically advisable and appreciated by the DJ. Noting that a typical gig requires 60-75 songs be played, do your best to refrain from submitting more than 20 songs. If you can’t help yourself and the list grows beyond 20, consider marking the more important ones, or the “must plays” and think of the additional selections as suggestions. This leaves room for the DJ to make adjustments. A complete play list is best not to be determined in advance, by you or the DJ. A good DJ will adjust the play list based on the response he gets from what was played previously, while working in the requested and known favorites. Contact us today.
Professional PA equipment is a must.
There is nothing wrong with requesting a list of equipment from a DJ, but for many the brand and model numbers mean little. As important is that the equipment is adequate for the location, be set-up and adjusted correctly for the best sound, the fact is – the best equipment available can sound terrible if the DJ behind it doesn’t adjust it properly. Also, it’s important that the DJ has back-up equipment on hand at the event. Ten seconds of dead air isn’t good, waiting a half hour or more, while you wait for equipment to arrive is unacceptable.

Our lowest rates are available to those organizing fundraisers. Discounts may also apply to school dances, civic events, or bookings for week days or Sundays. Off season events (January to April) and multiple date bookings may also qualify you for a discounted rate.
In New England, Saturday functions, day or evenings, booked May through December are prime booking dates, and thus are often booked well in advance, and command top fees. As with most businesses it’s all about supply and demand. On occasions dates will open up last minute, or we may be interested in booking a date previously reserved as personal time. We suggest you call as soon as you have determined the date, but ask that you check with us for last minute bookings as well. You may be in luck!

Contracts
Once details have been discussed, including the time, date and location of the event, along with fees and format, a contract will be drawn up outlining the details. The person booking the event should review the details, sign the contract and return along with any requested deposit. We are aware that some things change with regards to the format and music selections, even start times may change and pose no problem at all.
Please note: Changes to the date or time of the event requested after the signing of the contract can render the agreement null and void. In such cases the deposit may be forfeited to the entertainer. On some occasions it has happened that a new date, and/or time selected has been booked and the deposit applied to the new booking. This will be done at the discretion of the DJ and is subject to availability. Cancellation of the event also may result in the deposit being forfeited. This policy is standard for the industry, as most bookings occur well in advance and the likelihood of rebooking the date is unlikely, causing substantial lost revenue for the act. Balances due may be required to be paid prior to the date of the event.
